The Boy Scout Leader's Training Award is issued to Scouters who have achieved 2  years of tenure in one (or a combination)  of the following positions:

  • Assistant Scoutmaster

  • Troop Member of Committee

  • Scoutmaster

  • Charter Organization Rep

  • Committee Chair

This award also applies to Venturing, Varsity, Roundtable Staff, and  Sea Scout leaders in their respective positions

Along with tenure the recipient must also fulfill other requirements that are the measure of quality leadership.

To apply for the award for yourself or a fellow Scouter, simply download  one of the following forms and turn in at Roundtable:

Prior to 1989 Cub Scouters who weren't Den Leaders or Mothers would earn this knot for their respective positions.  On December 31, 1988 Cub Scout Leader specific knots were introduced.

There have been times where this award required
3-5 years to complete.
